Romania and Moldova to Create Joint Visual Archive

On May 6, Romania and Moldova signed a Joint Declaration of Cooperation in Bucharest to create a Romania–Moldova Joint Visual Archive. The agreement, signed by Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei from Moldova's parliament and Cristian-Augustin Niculescu Țâgârlaș from the Romanian Senate, aims to conserve, digitize, and make accessible visual materials reflecting the countries' shared history and identity, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The project will preserve key moments in bilateral relations, promote democratic and European values, support press freedom, and provide resources for academic and journalistic research. Both sides pledged to work closely with news agencies, archives, museums, and cultural institutions.

The declaration was signed during a Moldovan parliamentary delegation's visit to the Romanian Senate from May 5–7. The visit also included the opening of a photographic exhibition titled From the Bridge of Flowers to the Museum of the Press – Pages of History, highlighting cultural ties and collective memory. An identical exhibition is being held simultaneously in Moldova’s parliament.
