Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi met today with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, to discuss strengthening Moldova-EU relations, particularly in the areas of security and defense, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Popșoi expressed gratitude for the EU’s continued support, highlighting the impact of the EU Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM) and calling for its extension amid growing hybrid threats, including cyber and informational risks. He also acknowledged the EU’s contributions through the European Peace Facility (EPF), which have helped bolster Moldova's defense capabilities.

“The European Union is a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova. EU support is clear evidence that Moldova is not alone on its European path,” said Popșoi.

Kallas praised Moldova’s progress on its EU integration journey and reaffirmed the EU’s strong commitment to support reforms. She emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in strategic security areas.
