
Greek PM Mitsotakis Reaffirms Support for Ukraine at Kyiv Summit
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis addressed a Kyiv-organized summit via teleconference, marking the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Addressing President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mitsotakis acknowledged Ukraine's resilience and stressed that the country deserves a peace that ensures its independence and security. He reaffirmed that only Ukraine has the right to decide on any peace settlement.
Mitsotakis also highlighted the need for security guarantees to prevent future aggression and called for greater European commitment to defense. Noting that Greece allocates over 3% of its GDP to defense, he urged other nations to follow suit.
He concluded by reaffirming Greece’s unwavering support for Ukraine and its vision of a secure, democratic, and European future.
