The Romanian Inspectorate General of the Border Police (IGPF) reports that border control procedures for Ukrainian citizens continue in line with national and EU regulations. Since February 10, 2022, a total of 11,191,703 Ukrainian citizens have entered Romania, CE Report quotes Agerpres

In the past 24 hours, border police processed around 69,800 travelers and over 14,800 vehicles at Romania’s external borders with Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, and international air and sea routes. On entry into Romania, 35,721 people and 7,760 vehicles underwent border checks.

Since January 1, 2025, Romania has eliminated border controls with Hungary and Bulgaria, allowing free movement within the Schengen Area (excluding Cyprus and Ireland). However, random checks may still occur within 30 km of the border.

In the last 24 hours, authorities conducted over 10,400 checks using the eDAC system and recorded 100 illegal acts, including 25 crimes and 75 offenses. Sixteen foreign nationals were denied entry, while 20 Romanian citizens were prevented from leaving due to legal issues.
