Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu emphasized on Thursday that lasting peace in Ukraine can only be achieved with the support of the United States. Speaking at the start of a government meeting, he downplayed momentary harsh statements from world leaders, instead highlighting the importance of a fair and enduring resolution, CE Report quotes Agerpres

"For me, and for most Romanians, the key issue is not the rhetoric but the final goal – a just and lasting peace in Ukraine," Ciolacu stated. He reaffirmed Romania's strategic partnership with the U.S. as essential to this process.

Ciolacu also noted that peace would contribute to lower energy and gas prices, as well as economic recovery across Europe. Additionally, he stressed Romania's participation in Ukraine's reconstruction, a project estimated at over 500 billion euros, urging Romanian companies to seize opportunities in this effort.
