The candidate for prime minister from the ranks of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, during an electoral rally held in Gjilan, promised citizens that under his future government, Kosovo would join NATO, ensure drinking water supply, and reduce electricity prices, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

He emphasized that Gjilan has demonstrated its readiness for significant steps, and according to him, with AAK's economic development program, Gjilan will become a powerful economic hub for the entire region.

Haradinaj stated that although Kosovo's NATO membership will face challenges, they will be overcome successfully. “We will secure Kosovo’s drinking water for hundreds of years, and these are not expensive projects. The NATO issue will face some obstacles, but no significant task is without its challenges. We will successfully overcome this issue. Regarding energy, there is no place in the world that bases its existence on energy imports only. We need to produce it here in Kosovo, also to lower the price. As soon as possible, we will reach energy production, especially with gas near Ferizaj, and the gas pipeline from Skopje. The cost is not high. Salaries and pensions, the minimum wage will be 500 euros, and young people aged 18 will have job opportunities, representing the right to a minimum wage. Every student applying for a scholarship, if they prove they are a student, will have the right to a scholarship without discrimination,” said Haradinaj.

Meanwhile, the leader of NISMA, Fatmir Limaj, added that Kosovo’s NATO membership would only happen under one condition: if Haradinaj wins the elections, otherwise it will never happen.

Limaj also criticized the current prime minister, urging citizens not to vote for him, saying, "If you vote for the lazy one, he will never work." “I don’t know how he has the face to come and ask for your vote. It makes no sense if you vote and are rewarded with insults; the insults will never stop. If you vote for the lazy one, he will never work. Leave the slanderers and noise makers. We need a prime minister who does the work. There is no task we cannot do, do you know why? Because the homeland comes first. In these four years, Kosovo will enter NATO with only one condition: if Haradinaj is the prime minister, otherwise forget about it,” added Limaj.

Kosovo’s parliamentary elections will be held on February 9th.
