Türkiye to Strengthen Border Security and Combat Terrorism Starting 2025, Says Erdogan

Türkiye will enhance security beyond its southern borders and address terrorism threats from the region starting in 2025, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced during the AK Party's 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress in Balikesir, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

“From 2025, we will secure our southern borders and eliminate terrorism threats originating from those areas,” Erdogan stated, emphasizing the country’s commitment to achieving its "Century of Türkiye" vision.

Erdogan highlighted Türkiye’s progress in defense, high technology, artificial intelligence, and energy independence. He also addressed the situation in Syria, claiming Türkiye had supported the oppressed and played a decisive role in ending the 13-year humanitarian crisis and decades of Baathist rule.

Türkiye has hosted 3.6 million Syrians and ensured the safety of 4 million more in border regions during the crisis, with Erdogan declaring, “We passed the test of humanity with flying colors.”
