Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday expressed hope that Syria's new post-Assad administration will adopt an inclusive approach embracing all segments of Syrian society. Erdogan commended Syria’s “brothers” for their fight against what he called a “bloodstained, tyrannical regime” and voiced confidence in their success following the ouster of the Baathist regime led by Bashar Assad, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

On Türkiye-Iraq relations, Erdogan emphasized the importance of Iraq’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, affirming a joint commitment to combating the PKK, a terrorist group that threatens both nations' security.

Erdogan also addressed efforts for peace in the South Caucasus, highlighting the potential for a historic agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He underscored that Azerbaijan’s liberation of the Karabakh region in 2020 and its establishment of full sovereignty in September 2023 provide a significant opportunity for normalization and peace between the two neighbors.
