Bulgarian Energy Regulator Accepts Marginal Increase in Natural Gas Prices for April: The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) of Bulgaria, in conjunction with "Bulgargaz" AD, has approved a marginal 2.17 percent hike in natural gas prices for April compared to March. At an open meeting, "Bulgargaz" presented its proposal, citing stability in gas markets without significant fluctuations since March 11. The EWRC expressed satisfaction with the forecasted price, attributing it to stable market conditions and efficient utilization of gas storage facilities. Notably, the Bulgarian government's decision to absorb substantial debts from "Toplofikatsiya Sofia" and anticipate compensation from the European Commission further bolsters stability in the energy sector. EWRC Chairman Ivan Ivanov underscored the significance of steady natural gas prices in maintaining stability in electricity costs, highlighting operational continuity in gas-powered plants. The final decision on April's natural gas prices will be made in a closed meeting on April 1, signaling ongoing regulatory vigilance amidst energy market dynamics.
