European Union

EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos will be paying a visit to the country Monday and Tuesday, where she will meet with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and take part in the EU-Western Balkans Leaders’ Meeting in Skopje, dedicated to the Growth Plan.

Commissioner Kos and PM Mickoski later in the day will have a tête-à-tête meeting before a bilateral meeting with the other delegations.

The Skopje meeting brings together Western Balkan leaders, ministers, top EU officials and representatives of regional organizations and international institutions, CE Report quotes MIA.

On Tuesday, two panel discussions will be held with Mickoski and Kos addressing the first one followed by a joint press conference.

The first panel will be dedicated to the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans and the second one on specific mechanisms for its implementation.

The EU Commissioner’s Skopje visit was announced last week by the European Commission. Summit attendees include the leaders of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo.

The Interior Ministry has said that some streets will be closed for the Western Balkans Leaders’ Summit. Traffic will be rerouted from "streets in the wider central area of Skopje" during the summit, it said in a press release.

Police will be on-hand to ensure public safety and traffic restrictions are followed.
