Spider-Man targets Titanic’s box office record
Spider-Man: Brand New Day could knock Titanic out of the top five highest-grossing films in history.
The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring, among others, Tom Holland and Zendaya, has grossed $2.22 billion worldwide and needs just $44 million to overtake Titanic (1997), CE Report quotes ANSA.
The film directed by James Cameron is currently fifth among the highest-grossing films in history, behind Avatar (2009), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
Staying with box-office records, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is also close to surpassing Barbie. It needs just under $1 million to overtake the 2023 film directed by Greta Gerwig. The Odyssey has grossed $1.352 billion, while Barbie has earned approximately $1.44 billion worldwide.
