Tarkan draws thousands to Ankara concert
Turkish pop star Tarkan performed for thousands of fans in Ankara as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of Koç Holding, with concertgoers filling the venue despite rainy weather.
The concert, held at Ankara Nation's Garden, opened with Tarkan's hit song "Ölürüm Sana." During the performance, he also sang a number of his most popular tracks, including "Dudu," "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu," "Tut Elimden," and "Oynama Şıkıdım."
Tarkan thanked Koç Holding, which is celebrating its centennial this year, for bringing him together with residents of the Turkish capital, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
Ahead of the concert, attendees were shown a documentary about Koç Holding's history and development.
The film featured images from the company's founding period, which coincided with the early years of the Turkish Republic, as well as content highlighting the contributions of the late businessman Vehbi Koç and the Koç family.
The event was held under extensive security measures and attracted people of all ages despite the rainy conditions.
Concertgoer Ramazan Öztürk said he was delighted to see Tarkan perform at a public concert after a long absence.
"We love Tarkan very much, and I thank him for appearing in a public concert after such a long time," he said.
Another attendee, Havva Kamışlı, who came to the event with her husband, expressed gratitude to Koç Holding for organizing the concert.
"We thank Koç very much for giving us this experience. They made our dream come true," she said.
