Celine Dion set for comeback with Paris shows
Celine Dion appears to be ready for a major comeback.
According to Canadian outlet La Presse, an announcement from the singer is imminent, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Paris is expected to host her performances, judging by posters appearing across the streets of the French capital featuring some of her iconic songs, including “The Power of Love,” “Pour que tu m’aimes encore,” and “S’il suffisait d’aimer.”
La Presse also reports that the singer of My Heart Will Go On is set to return to the stage with two concerts per week at the Paris La Défense Arena between September and October.
Celine Dion’s last concert took place in 2020 in New York as part of her Courage World Tour, which was later suspended due to the pandemic.
At the end of 2022, she announced on social media that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that causes muscle spasms and has affected her ability to walk and sing, forcing her to cancel the remaining tour dates.
Following her diagnosis, her most recent performance was in July 2024 during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where she performed “Hymne à l’amour,” originally by Édith Piaf, from the Eiffel Tower.
