Rose Byrne exposes dark side of US local bureaucracy
The film “Tow”, starring recent Oscar nominee Rose Byrne, dives into the hidden workings of American local government.
Directed by Stephanie Laing, the film — which is based on a true story — premiered at the Santa Barbara and Tribeca Film Festivals in 2025, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
The plot follows Amanda Ogle from Seattle, who lives in her car, a 1991 Toyota Camry.
Her life is turned upside down when the vehicle — her only shelter — is stolen and then impounded by the authorities.
As revealed in the trailer, the case becomes an exhausting legal ordeal driven by a bureaucratic absurdity, in which the heroine is forced to pay a crushing fee for a mistake she never made.
