A painting exhibition by late artist Tatyana Tomachinska will be displayed at the Sofia Press Gallery in the capital. The exhibition will be on view from January 20 to February 13, 2026, according to the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA).

The exhibition fulfills a long-postponed dream of the artist, that is, to return to Bulgaria with a solo show. Organized posthumously, the exhibition also stands as a tribute to one of the most distinctive and original figures in contemporary Bulgarian art, the organizers said, CE Report quotes BTA.

Tomachinska was born in 1955 in the city of Vratsa. A member of the UBA, she graduated from the National Academy of Art in Sofia with a degree in Textile Art and Design. From the very beginning of her career, Tomachinska established a recognizable artistic language marked by expressiveness, vivid color, and strong emotional impact.

Over the years, Tomachinska held more than 25 solo exhibitions and took part in numerous international forums. Her work spans textile art, painting, collage, applied graphics, fashion, and children’s design. Her artworks are included in public and private collections across Europe, as well as in Canada, Japan, and the United States.

In 1999, she left for Germany, where she created a significant portion of the works presented in the exhibition.
