Music superstar Beyoncé, tennis legend Venus Williams, and Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman will co-chair the Met Gala 2026 alongside Anna Wintour.

The dress code for the evening has not yet been revealed, but it will be aligned with the Costume Art exhibition, which will open on May 10 at the famous Manhattan museum in New York. The exhibition will explore “the dressed body” through works of art across the centuries, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The co-chairs represent highly influential fields: music, sport, and cinema.

The gala, traditionally held on the first Monday of May, was first organized in 1948 and for decades was a gathering reserved for New York high society, before Anna Wintour—who took over leadership in the 1990s—transformed it into a runway for the wealthy and celebrities.

For Beyoncé, who was an honorary co-chair in 2013, this will be her first Met Gala appearance in ten years. Seven-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams is still active on the WTA tour. Nicole Kidman is a veteran of the event, having already co-chaired the gala in 2003 and 2005.

The Met also announced a “host committee” led by Saint Laurent designer Anthony Vaccarello and actress Zoë Kravitz.

The committee also includes singers Sabrina Carpenter and Doja Cat, ballerina Misty Copeland—who recently bid farewell to the stage—and basketball champion A’ja Wilson, who this week appears on the cover of the British edition of Time magazine as 2025 Athlete of the Year, KosovaPress reports.
