Selena Gomez reflects on future motherhood with Benny Blanco

After the season 2 finale of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the singer and actress, who married Benny Blanco in September, shared her desire to become a mother while reacting to the development of her character, reports E! News, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

“Alex Russo is a mommy,” Selena wrote over a video in an Instagram Story post. “I hope one day I will be too.”

Selena’s words came after the surprising season finale, where Alex sacrificed herself to close a portal that would have caused an apocalypse, right after it was revealed that Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) was her daughter.

At 33, Selena has not yet become a mother, but she has been open about her wish to start a family, having previously shared the health challenges she has faced.

“I’ve never said this before... but unfortunately I can’t carry my children,” Selena revealed to Vanity Fair in September 2024. “I have many medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s life at risk.”

Throughout her health journey, Selena and Benny, who started dating in 2023, remain optimistic about building their family in their own way.

“I don’t know what will happen, for sure, but I love kids,” the singer of “Younger and Hotter Than Me” said in March on Jay Shetty’s podcast. “I like making them laugh; they’re just so sweet. So, absolutely, when that moment comes, I’ll be very excited.”

In fact, while Selena dreams about her future as a mother, she has also reflected on how this role will impact her career and how she handles fame.

“I think it will happen more when I have kids. I will set my boundaries for the sake of my peace. What will that look like? I have no idea. I feel like I owe so many people in the world some smiles, hugs, or photos. So, it’s very difficult. Overall, it’s a lot because I love what I do.”
