
Melba Design Festival returns to Sofia
Sofia will host the 8th Melba Design Festival, organized by Komplekt Studio, from November 6 to 16. The programme will feature exhibitions, discussions, workshops and meetings with international creatives and studios, according to the organizers, CE Report quotes BTA.
The festival's main event is the Melba symposium, which will take place on November 8 in Hall 1 of the Toplocentrala Centre for Contemporary Arts, bringing together representatives from more than five countries. Among the first confirmed speakers are Julie Richoz (France/Switzerland), Ineke Hans (Netherlands), Richard van der Laken (Netherlands), Martyna Wedzicka-Obuchowicz (Poland), and Mario Lombardo (Germany). They will present contemporary trends in product, furniture, and graphic design, illustration and social entrepreneurship.
The festival programme also includes a traditional group exhibition with Bulgarian designers at the Swimming Pool Gallery, as well as initiatives highlighting the role of design in contemporary culture.
