Greek saxophonist and composer Dimitrios Vassilakis will perform at the Bansko Jazz Festival on Wednesday alongside his quartet, featuring his son Nestor Vassilakis on tenor sax. Their “Ballads & Blues” project blends tradition with themes like AI and improvisation, offering a masterclass-style concert, organizers said, CE Report quotes BTA

Also performing are leading Bulgarian brass musicians Mihail Yosifov, Velislav Stoyanov, and Dimitar Lolev with their project CapriHorns, combining jazz tradition with funk, Latin, and Balkan influences.

The festival’s World Stage will also feature Vali Bogheas and his band, merging Moldovan and Balkan sounds with modern European elements.

The event is organized by Bansko Municipality and the Festivals in Bulgaria Association, with support from the Culture and Tourism Ministries.
