NATFA Branch to Open in Burgas

The National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA) will open its first branch outside Sofia in the coastal city of Burgas, Mayor Dimitar Nikolov announced on Wednesday, CE Report quotes BTA

Calling it a “historic moment,” Nikolov thanked the cultural community for its support. The Burgas Municipal Council approved the project earlier this year, offering NATFA free use of facilities in the NHK Cultural Centre and Youth Cultural Centre for ten years.

Additionally, the council approved the launch of a local branch of the National Music Academy, with procedures expected to conclude by July.

Burgas has increasingly become a hub for arts education, already hosting branches of Sofia University and the National Academy of Arts.
