Elijah Blue Allman, the son of Cher and her late husband Greg Allman, was hospitalized in Joshua Tree, California, due to an overdose, CE Report quotes ANSA.

It's unclear what substance Allman overdosed on, but sources told the gossip site: “He’s lucky to be alive.”

Elijah, 49, who is also a musician, had previously spoken openly about his struggles with drugs: in a 2014 interview, he revealed that he began using illegal substances at the age of 11 and had come close to overdosing multiple times.

Two years ago, Cher sought legal guardianship over her son’s assets due to his drug and mental health issues, though the guardianship was revoked in 2024.
