Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Announces Creation of New Orchestra

Following the preview concert in December in Bologna, the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Orchestra was officially announced this morning — an artistic project designed to honor the human and artistic legacy of the great Maestro from Modena, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The announcement was made at the Pavarotti House Museum in Modena by Nicoletta Mantovani, President of the Foundation, and Matteo Parmeggiani, the musical and artistic director.

The orchestra was created to give new voice to the idea of borderless music, which Luciano Pavarotti embodied and promoted throughout the world.

“The orchestra,” explained Parmeggiani, “will be a living, evolving entity composed of a flexible group of professionals, ranging from 20 to over 70 members, depending on the repertoire, often multidisciplinary.”

This symphonic group, a living extension of the Pavarotti Foundation, is already involved in major collaborations — such as the Respighi Festival in Bologna, where it will debut on June 8, and the Chigiana Academy in Siena, where it will participate in conducting courses from July 21 to August 2, followed by a concert in San Gimignano on August 5, conducted by Luciano Acocella.

On June 26, the ensemble will also perform at the Pavarotti House Museum, with a program dedicated to great film soundtracks.

The orchestra will also play a leading role in the events celebrating 90 years since Pavarotti’s birth, including the major event “Pavarotti 90 – The Man Who Moved the World”, taking place on September 30 at the Verona Arena, featuring Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, and many other artists.

“This project was born from the desire to continue promoting the talent, passion, and artistic excellence that always guided Luciano’s life and career,” said Nicoletta Mantovani.

“A new orchestra represents a real opportunity for musicians to grow professionally, work with great masters, and bring music to theaters, festivals, and public spaces — wherever beauty can reach. Luciano firmly believed in sharing knowledge and making art accessible to everyone. This orchestra is one more step in that direction, aiming to contribute to a vibrant, inclusive culture that unites people through the universal language of music. We dedicate this project to Luciano, with the commitment and enthusiasm he continues to inspire in us.”
