Bulgaria’s Language Institute Turns 83

The Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) is celebrating its 83rd anniversary with a two-day international conference. Opened by the Institute’s Director, Prof. Svetla Koeva, the event brings together over 80 researchers from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine to share advances in Bulgarian linguistic studies, CE Report quotes BTA

The forum, attended by BAS Vice-President Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov and academic leaders, also featured the Institute's annual awards ceremony. Plenary lectures will be delivered by leading scholars including Mariola Walczak-Mikolajczak (Poland), Petar Sotirov (Poland), Christina Markou (Greece), and Jakub Banasiak (Poland).

The conference has become a key venue for presenting cutting-edge linguistic research and the achievements of the Institute’s nine departments, as well as showcasing collaborations with international institutions.
