Paris' iconic Eiffel Tower was evacuated Tuesday due to a short circuit in one of its elevator power rails, according to local media, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

The issue occurred between the second floor and the tower's peak, triggering a fire alarm at 10:50 a.m. local time. The operator company, SETE, evacuated the site as a precaution, assuring that no visitors were at risk.

Firefighters and maintenance teams are investigating the cause, and the tower is expected to partially reopen later in the day, BFMTV reported.
