Following a flight programme, a ceremonial naval parade of the Croatian Navy took place in the Adriatic waters on Thursday, marking the 30th anniversary of the military-police Operation Storm and the liberation of the occupied parts of the country, CE Report quotes HINA.

The fleet consists of a total of 14 ships, including four missile gunboats, two landing ships, four patrol boats and four large rubber boats, on which 211 members of the Croatian Navy are deployed.

The patrol boats and large rubber boats are intended for the implementation of surveillance and protection of the rights and interests of Croatia at sea, search and rescue tasks at sea, and the surveillance of marine fisheries as part of the Coast Guard.

The Croatian Navy's missile gunboats are intended for artillery action against targets in the air, against smaller and less protected surface ships and against targets on land, launching missile strikes against enemy ships with a displacement of 200 to 15,000 tonnes, laying offensive minefields and conducting naval interception operations.

The naval formation is commanded by Frigate Captain Srđan Bilić, Deputy Commander of the Croatian Navy Fleet.

Citizens and guests, gathered along Zagreb's Vukovarska Street, watched the naval parade on video walls.
