The North Macedonian government, at its 100th session, decided to extend the nationwide state of emergency due to wildfires for 30 days, CE Report quotes MIA.

According to the government press service, the extension ensures timely assistance for all affected areas, with all resources, including human, technical, and logistical, remaining mobilized to combat the fires and protect the population.

“Due to the high risk of forest fires in the country, we appeal to citizens to exercise caution and strictly follow the ban on entering forests and forest land (in effect from July 1 to August 31, 2025). Anyone who violates this fire prevention measure will be fined between €1,500 and €2,000,” the government said in a press release.
