Croatia’s June inflation fueled by housing, transport, energy costs

In June 2026, compared to June 2025 (at the annual level), the prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia, measured by the consumer price index, increased by 4.5% on average.

Compared to May 2026 (at the monthly level), they decreased by 0.4% on average, CE Report informs via the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

Observing the main divisions of the ECOICOP ver. 2 classification, at the annual level, the highest increase on average in consumer prices was recorded in the following divisions: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, of 12.0% (contribution to the growth of +1.80 percentage points), Transport, of 8.6% (+1.20 percentage points), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, of 7.1% (+0.35 percentage points), Restaurants and accommodation services, of 5.8% (+0.32 percentage points), Health, of 5.2% (+0.15 percentage points), Recreation, sport and culture, of 4.1% (+0.16 percentage points), Insurance and financial services, of 3.9% (+0.08 percentage points), Personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services, of 3.3% (+0.17 percentage points), Information and communication, of 2.9% (+0.17 percentage points), and Food and non-alcoholic beverages, of 0.8% (+0.22 percentage points).

The increase in prices at the annual level was alleviated by a decrease in the prices in the divisions Clothing and footwear, of 2.8% (contribution to the decrease of -0.20 percentage points), and Education services, of 1.9% (-0.01 percentage points).

In June 2026, the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, increased by 4.2% on average compared to June 2025 (at the annual level). Compared to May 2026 (at the monthly level), they increased by 0.1% on average.
