Croatia records 37th straight year-on-year rise in retail trade
In April 2026, the retail trade turnover in Croatia increased in real terms at the annual level and decreased at the monthly level.
The retail trade of automotive fuels and lubricants in real terms decreased at the monthly and at the annual level
In April 2026, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover was in real terms 0.2% lower than in March 2026, CE Report informs via the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
Out of that, the retail trade turnover of automotive fuels and lubricants decreased by 3.7% and the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except for automotive fuels and lubricants) by 2.4%, while the retail trade turnover of food products increased by 2.8%.
Real retail trade turnover has continued to increase for the 37th consecutive month at the annual level
In April 2026, compared to the same month of the previous year, the total working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased in real terms by 2.0%. Out of that, the retail trade turnover of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 2.6% and the retail trade turnover of non-food products (except for automotive fuels and lubricants) by 2.8%, while the retail trade turnover of automotive fuels and lubricants decreased by 15.1%.
In the first four months of 2026, the working-day adjusted retail trade turnover increased by 2.8% in real terms, compared to the same period of the previous year.
