The delegations shared views over the two countries’ relations and ways to improve them all the while highlighting the need to conclude a bilateral legal framework in areas of mutual interests as the basis for further advancement of the cooperation, primarily in business and trade.

“It was mutually concluded that there is a potential to improve energy cooperation after our country on several occasions has shown interest into joining the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), being one of the possible alternatives to alleviate the consequences from the global energy crisis,” said a press release.

Frequent contacts between the two countries recently, including recent visits, added the press release, have contributed to raising the political dialogue to a higher level that resulted in the signing of an agreement abolishing the visa regime for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

“The two interlocutors said the first political consultations between the two countries will serve as a motivation and solid basis to further expand overall bilateral relations,” said the press release.

During his Baku visit, Deputy Minister Dimitrovski met with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
