“There is no point in continuing the killing even for a single day,” Zelenskyy said on X, calling the potential ceasefire a necessary first step to ending the war.

Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, added that a 30-day ceasefire is a prerequisite for further negotiations, warning Russia against using vague language to continue hostilities.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed resuming peace talks in Istanbul and is expected to speak with Turkish President Erdogan about hosting the negotiations.
