Ukrainian forces destroy rare Russian Smerch-2 launcher

War in Ukraine

Soldiers from Ukraine's 63rd Mechanized Brigade have destroyed a rare piece of enemy military equipment -- a Smerch-2 naval bomb launcher -- in the Lyman sector.

The press service of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces reported this on Telegram and shared a respective video, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"Our forces managed to track and destroy this rare enemy weapon hidden in the forests of the Lyman sector. The occupiers had mounted a Smerch-2 naval bomb launcher onto an Ural truck, but they failed to consider one key factor -- there is no hiding from the pilots of the Unmanned Systems Battalion and their large night drones," the statement read.
