White House criticizes Biden over military aid to Ukraine
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has repeated accusations against former U.S. President Joe Biden, claiming he provided military aid to Ukraine free of charge.
She made the remarks during a press briefing while commenting on social media posts by Donald Trump, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.
"The president was pointing out that, unfortunately, we had a very stupid and incompetent leader in this White House for four years who gave away many of our best weapons for nothing, for free, to another country very far away, by the name of Ukraine," Leavitt said.
According to her, Trump noted that this was an unwise decision but stressed that there should be no doubt about "the strength and the might of the American military."
Meanwhile, Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that U.S. ammunition stockpiles have "never been higher and better" than they are now.
"Sleepy Joe Biden spent all of his time, and our country's money, giving everything" to Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump said, comparing the Ukrainian president to 19th-century American businessman and politician Phineas Taylor Barnum, who was also a showman known for his ability to make money.
"While he [Biden] gave so much of the super high end away (free!), he didn't bother to replace it," Trump added.
At the same time, he boasted that, "fortunately, I rebuilt the military in my first term, and continue to do so."
