The Eugen Doga Chisinau International Airport (AIC) registered a record number of passengers in last August, confirming the attractiveness of summer destinations and enhanced interest in international connections, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

According to AIC’s data, in August 2025, 757,790 passengers were embarked and disembarked, representing 106 per cent of the forecast estimated. Compared to the same period last year, traffic increased by 46.6 per cent, or +240,734 passengers. The number of aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs) was 5,148, and the transported goods totaled 246.2 tons.

“The most popular destinations in August were Antalya – 24,021 passengers, Istanbul – 16,954, Bucharest – 12,653, Paris – 10,910, Barcelona – 8,743, Heraklion – 8,658, Larnaca – 7,959, Warsaw – 7,507, Berlin – 6,787, Milan – 6,414, Vienna – 6,257, Rome – 6,056, Bologna – 5,685, Brussels – 5,647, Sharm el-Sheikh – 5,636, Verona – 5,558. As many as 67,373 passengers were registered on the new destinations opened in August 2025, (8.89 per cent of the total), including Alicante, Katowice, Dortmund, Palma de Mallorca, Memmingen, Thessaloniki, and Turin”, AIC said.

The Chisinau International Airport representatives emphasize that these figures reaffirm the airport's potential to connect Moldova to major European hubs and top tourist destinations. At the same time, the airport’s administration announces the continuation of the flight network’s development in the autumn of 2025, with new routes that will diversify travel options for passengers.
