Vespucci Voyage Opens Doors to Italy’s Rich Heritage

Travel

As part of the upcoming stages of the Vespucci Mediterranean Tour, the project “Vespucci Meets Culture” will offer visitors the chance to discover the wonders of national museums and cultural sites in the cities visited by the Italian Navy’s training ship. A special discount on museum entry tickets will be available during the ship’s stay in each city, CE Report quotes ANSA.

This initiative stems from a broader collaboration agreement signed by the Ministry of Culture and 12 other ministries to support both the Global and Mediterranean Vespucci Tours, strongly promoted by Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and backed by the Ministry of Defense.

The agreement—signed by Massimo Osanna, Director General of Museums (MiC), and Luca Andreoli, CEO of Difesa Servizi—is aimed at promoting Italy’s beauty and cultural excellence, especially those linked to its rich history and heritage.

During the days when the Amerigo Vespucci docks in Italian cities, citizens will be able to explore the listed national museums and cultural institutions at a reduced entry fee, available with proof of booking from the official site www.tourvespucci.it. Visitors with booking receipts can purchase discounted tickets directly at museum box offices.

Upcoming stops include:

Naples (May 13–16, 2025): Virgil and Leopardi Tomb Park, Villa Pignatelli, Duke of Martina National Museum of Ceramics in Villa Floridiana

Gaeta (May 24–27, 2025): Archaeological Park of Tiberius’ Villa and National Archaeological Museum of Sperlonga, Formia National Archaeological Museum, and Minturnae Archaeological Park and Royal Ferdinand Bridge

Civitavecchia (May 28–June 3, 2025): National Archaeological Museum of Civitavecchia

Genoa (June 10–13, 2025): Royal Palace and Palazzo Spinola
