After many years in emigration, returning to his hometown was the right decision for Aldo Mehmeti from Vlora (Albania).

Vlora, now completely transformed and with a bright tourism outlook, has helped his business grow year after year, making it today one of the city’s elite restaurants, popular among both local and foreign visitors, CE Report quotes ATA.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared Aldo Mehmeti’s testimony on social media. Mehmeti returned to his hometown after 17 years in Florence.

Rama emphasized that the restaurant “Gjurma” is a success story of a young professional who, after overcoming many challenges abroad, returned to his homeland to leave a mark in his place of birth, where his heart belongs.

Aldo Mehmeti said that had he decided to stay in Florence, where he completed his studies as a chef, he would have remained just another chef like many others. Instead, in Vlora, he has his own business.

Mehmeti praised the potential that touristic Vlora offers today and invited all young emigrants to return and leave their mark in their homeland.
