Moldova celebrates UFC victory

Pavel Andrușca made his UFC debut, stepping into the world’s leading mixed martial arts organization.

The fighter from Ungheni defeated British fighter Nathaniel Wood at the UFC event in Paris after three rounds, earning a unanimous decision victory, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

All three judges awarded the victory to Andrușca, with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28. The Moldovan fighter put pressure on his opponent with his ground game, while in the final round he was also more effective in the striking exchanges.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu congratulated the athlete on his performance.

“Congratulations, Pavel, and best of luck going forward!” Igor Grosu said.

The victory in Paris gave Pavel Andrușca a spectacular UFC debut and established him as a new name representing the Republic of Moldova in the world’s most prestigious MMA promotion.
