Kosovo’s football growth “Extraordinary,” says FIFA President

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has paid tribute with great respect and admiration to the legendary figure of Kosovar football, Fadil Vokrri, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

In an interview with the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK), Infantino emphasized that Vokrri’s contribution was crucial not only for the development of football in Kosovo, but also for representing the values of the Kosovar people on the international stage.

He described it as a great privilege to have personally known the former FFK president and highlighted his irreplaceable role in Kosovo’s admission to UEFA and FIFA.

“I met him many times, and if Kosovo is what it is today — both in terms of football and as a country — he certainly deserves much praise. He represents the resilience and strength of the people of Kosovo. For me, it was a great privilege to have known him. If we look at how football has developed in Kosovo over the last ten years, since joining UEFA and FIFA, it’s truly extraordinary,” said Infantino.
