Dortmund ultras to boycott Champions League clash with Copenhagen
The main fan groups of Borussia Dortmund have decided to boycott the Champions League match against FC Copenhagen on October 21 at the Parken Stadium, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
“The Unity” and “Desperados,” the two largest fan groups of the German club, announced they will not be present in the stands due to what they consider unreasonable measures by the organizers. The main reason is related to ticket personalization and the requirement to present identification documents, a practice they have opposed before.
This decision continues the boycott from 2022, when Dortmund and Copenhagen faced off in European competitions and the German fans refused to travel for the same reasons.
“Unfortunately, this match will again be held under restrictions involving ticket personalization and deviation from the usual distribution by the club,” the joint statement from the two groups said.
“The Unity,” considered Dortmund’s main Ultras group, has known friendly ties with the Ultras fans of Brondby IF, FC Copenhagen’s biggest rivals.
