Dinamo City stun Hajduk Split to reach Europa Conference League play-offs
Dinamo City have qualified for the Europa Conference League play-offs after eliminating Hajduk Split.
The match, played at the “Air Albania” Stadium, ended 3-1 for the Blues after 120 minutes of play. Regular time finished 1-0 for the hosts, a result that cancelled out the 2-1 defeat from the first leg in Croatia. The only goal in regular time was scored by Baton Zabërgja in the 14th minute, CE Report quotes ATA.
In the 78th minute, Hajduk Split player Abdoulie Sanyang Bamba was shown a red card after two dangerous challenges.
Extra time started well for the Croatians, who equalised in the 99th minute through Fran Karačić, coming closer than ever to qualification. But Dinamo City responded strongly in the second half of extra time, turning everything around. In the 109th minute, Eridon Qardaku scored a stunning goal from outside the box, and just two minutes later Hekuran Berisha found the net for the third time, sealing the victory.
The match ended 3-1, and with an aggregate score of 4-3 over the two legs, Dinamo City secured their place in the Europa Conference League play-off round, where they will face Polish side Jagiellonia.
