
Croatian brothers win silver at World Games in China
Croatian brothers Ivan and Anđelo Kvesić won silver medals in the karate event at the World Games in the Chinese city of Chengdu.
The younger of the two, Ivan Kvesić, competed in the -84 kg category under the round robin system, meaning each competitor faced all others in the group, CE Report quotes HINA.
Anđelo Kvesić won his medal in the heavyweight category (+84 kg).
For Croatia, this was the third medal at the World Games in China, as yesterday Ema Sgardelli won bronze in the up to 50 kg category.
At the World Games in China, nearly 6,700 athletes from 116 countries are competing in 21 sports.
In the history of the World Games, Croatia now has a total of nine medals with these three: one gold (Jelena Kovačević in 2009 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan), four silvers, and four bronze medals.
