North Macedonia unveils key tourism trends with surge in foreign arrivals

In North Macedonia, the number of tourists in June 2025 was 126,415, of which 20.1% were domestic tourists and 79.9% were foreign tourists, CE Report quotes MIA.

The number of nights spent in June 2025 was 243,157, of which 26.7% were by domestic tourists and 73.3% by foreign tourists.

According to the State Statistical Office data, Turkey was the country of origin for the largest number of foreign tourists in June - at 34,366, followed by Serbia at 8,897, Germany at 8,011, and the Netherlands at 3,604.

In the period January – June 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, the total number of tourists increased by 13.5%: the number of domestic tourists decreased by 2.5%, while that of foreign tourists increased by 19.7%.

In the period January - June 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, the total number of nights spent increased by 8.5%: the number of nights spent by domestic tourists decreased by 1.1%, while those by foreign tourists increased by 13.3%.
