Kosovo Fuels Olympic Hopes with €82K for Youth

Sports

The Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOK) continues to invest in the future of Kosovar sport, financially supporting young athletes who are considered Olympic hopes for the country. As part of its commitment to the development of elite sport and preparations for the next Olympic Games, KOK has allocated over 82 thousand euros to 46 young athletes from 18 sports federations, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The President of the KOC, Ismet Krasniqi, said that the main goal is to have as much support as possible for sportsmen, athletes and Olympic hopefuls.

"The Kosovo Olympic Committee has continued from year to year to increase the support of athletes, the number of Olympic scholarship holders or Olympic hopefuls in this case. Already this year, the Kosovo Olympic Committee supports 46 young athletes who come from 18 Olympic sports federations, which is a fairly large number, I believe, and the goal of the Olympic Committee is to increase the number as much as possible so that there is as much support as possible for our athletes, for our athletes and for Olympic hopefuls. So, the support of an athlete for one month is 150 euros, which means that an athlete will earn 1800 euros per year. In general, for 46 athletes, the value that the Kosovo Olympic Committee will support the athletes with will be 82 thousand 800 euros," said Krasniqi.

Krasniqi also announced that from September of this year, the KOK will also begin supporting Olympic scholarship holders whose main goal is to prepare for the "Los Angeles 2028" Olympic Games.
