The 60th Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye (TUR 2025) is drawing enthusiastic support from locals and tourists alike, despite tough weather and demanding terrain. Organized under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency, the eight-stage race showcases the country's natural beauty, passing through popular destinations like Marmaris, Fethiye, Kusadasi, and Cesme, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

In Marmaris, local resident Oznur Gonen, whose children watch the race from a nearby school, said the event has become a community tradition. Marina Karakoyun, a Belgian living in Türkiye, followed the Marmaris to Akyaka (Kiran) stage, waving flags in support of the cyclists despite rain and fog.

Stage four featured steep climbs and harsh weather, while stage five from Marmaris to Aydin was canceled due to heavy rain. The riders continue through historical landmarks and coastal routes, occasionally escorted by mounted police.

Wout Poels of XDS Astana now leads the general classification with a time of 14:26:30, taking the turquoise jersey. The race began in Antalya and will end in Izmir on Sunday, covering 1,153 kilometers across Türkiye’s scenic and historic terrain.
