Bulgaria's highest ranked tennis player Grigor Dimitrov qualified Sunday for the quarterfinals of the French Open for the first time in his career after a 7-6(5) 6-4 7-6(3) win over world No. 8 Hubert Hurkacz. He has reached semifinals at each of the other three Grand Slam tournaments - the highest level competitions in the sport, CE Report quotes BTA

Even though Dimitrov finished the match in three sets, the victory did not come easy. Hurkacz played at a high level, scoring 20 aces and reaching 7 break points but the Bulgarian showed great composure and fighting spirit in the crucial moments to get the better of his Polish opponent.
