Slovenia nears egg independence
With Easter approaching, the Statistics Office has released figures on staple holiday foods like eggs, horseradish, and ham.
In 2023, Slovenia's self-sufficiency rate for eggs was 90%, CE Report quotes STA.
That year, 1.4 million hens were laying eggs for consumption.
On average, they produced around 900,000 eggs per day.
