Romania's Ministry of National Defense emphasized the strategic importance of the F-16 Training Center during the 29th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, held online on Monday, CE Report quotes AGERPRES

Defense Minister Ionut Mosteanu reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and outlined its contributions, including training Ukrainian personnel through the EUMAM UA and UK-led INTERFLEX missions.

The F-16 Training Center, located in Romania, was highlighted for training both Romanian and allied pilots, including Ukrainians, enhancing NATO’s air defense posture on the Eastern Flank.

Mosteanu stressed that Romania will continue to support Ukraine and contribute to regional stability “as long as necessary.” The meeting, co-chaired by UK Defense Secretary John Healey and Germany’s Boris Pistorius, also included U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
