Over 23,000 Diaspora Votes Cast

By Friday at 12 p.m. (Bucharest time), more than 23,000 Romanian citizens abroad had cast their vote in the first round of the presidential elections, according to real-time data from the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP). Of these, 19,327 voted in person since polls opened Thursday night, while 4,106 voted by post. The highest turnout was recorded in Italy (3,560), followed by Germany, Spain, and the UK.
