Both officials highlighted the need to enhance disaster management capabilities and accelerate knowledge exchange in civil protection. Ambassador Baggi praised the strong partnership and stressed the importance of continuing successful projects.

The discussions also addressed European security concerns, particularly the fight against illegal migration and cross-border crime. Minister Predoiu reaffirmed Romania's commitment to these efforts, especially in light of its full Schengen entry.

Both sides underscored the necessity of European cohesion amid growing security threats, radicalization, and the misuse of technology to destabilize democratic processes.
