Türkiye honors Montenegro's Statehood Day with red-lit Bosphorus Bridge

At the initiative of the Embassy of Montenegro in the Republic of Türkiye, the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul was illuminated in red ahead of Montenegro's Statehood Day, symbolically marking Montenegrin statehood and the friendship between Montenegro and the Republic of Türkiye, CE Report quotes FENA.

"The illumination of the Bosphorus Bridge was organized just days after the successful NATO Summit in Ankara and the bilateral meeting between Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, serving as another confirmation of the strong allied and partnership relations between the two countries," the embassy said.

Montenegro celebrates Statehood Day today, commemorating July 13, 1878, when it was recognized as an independent state at the Congress of Berlin. The same date in 1941 marks the beginning of the popular uprising against fascism.
