North Macedonia, Montenegro discuss stronger inter-municipal cooperation

The Mayor of the Municipality of Berovo, North Macedonia, Petar Ruzhinski, together with the Head of the Department for Local Economic Development, Gjorgji Peovski, held a meeting with the Vice President of the Municipality of Bar, Montenegro, Damir Rasketić.

They discussed opportunities for establishing and strengthening inter-municipal cooperation in several areas of mutual interest, CE Report informs via the Municipality of Berovo's official website.

During the meeting, they discussed potential cooperation in the fields of economic development, culture, and tourism, as well as opportunities offered by cross-border cooperation programmes and joint project implementation important for local development and the citizens of both municipalities.

Vice President Rasketić presented the development potential of Bar, the activities of the local government aimed at improving the business and tourism environment, as well as the existing cooperation that the Municipality of Bar has established with municipalities in the region.

Mayor Ruzhinski expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized that such meetings are important for exchanging experiences, sharing best practices, and creating a foundation for future cooperation between local governments. As part of the visit, Mayor Ruzhinski and Head of Local Economic Development Gjorgji Peovski also had the opportunity to learn about the cultural and historical heritage of Bar, with special emphasis on the Old Town, one of the most significant cultural assets in Montenegro.
